The Centre International de Hautes Etudes Agronomiques Méditerranéennes - Bari (hereafter referred to as CIHEAM Bari), a body of CIHEAM - an International intergovernmental organization established for the purpose of meeting needs in the general interest, not having an industrial or commercial character, through the Agreement signed in Paris on 21 May 1962, ratified and executed in Italy by the Law 13 July 1965 no. 932, and regulated in Italy by the Law 26 May 2000 no. 159 to ratify and enforce  the Supplementary Agreement between the Government of the Italian Republic and the Centre International de Hautes Etudes Agronomiques Méditerranéennes (CIHEAM) with its registered and operating office based in Italy at Via Ceglie n. 9, Valenzano (BA) – taxpayer’s code  93047470724 – and represented in Jordan for the signature hereof by Dr. Luigi Cavestro, in his capacity of project manager/liaison officer of CIHEAM Bari

and

The Innovation, Action and Production Association, (hereafter referred to as Cooperative/Association) operating in (address) Irbid – Bani Kinanah - Quwaylibah, and registered to the Jordanian Cooperative Corporation with number 520193557, operating in the sector of Food processing and represented for the signature hereof by Dr. Mowaffaq Al-Hawari, in his capacity of President of the Cooperative / Association;

Each is a “Party”, and both are “Parties”.

WHEREAS an agreement was signed on 12/01/2021 by the Directorate General for Development Cooperation of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC/DGDC) and CIHEAM Bari for the implementation and financing of the Project “Enhancement of Jordanian SMEs inclusiveness, competitivity and sustainable innovation – JoSME” (the “Project”);

WHEREAS a Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 20/12/2021 by CIHEAM Bari and the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Supply (MoITS), the national counterpart of the above-mentioned project, endorsed by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MOPIC);

WHEREAS the Project foresees, in the framework of the result n. 4 “SMEs benefit from tailor-made services to improve food quality” to provide equipment to cooperatives/associations, working in the agri-food sector in order to make services to their members;

CONSIDERING that the Project Steering Committee (governing board of the Project composed of representatives of the Italian Cooperation, of MoITS and CIHEAM Bari) in his meeting held on 07/12/22 has decided that the maximum amount that can be financed by the Project to purchase equipment for each cooperative/association is 240.000,00 Euro (Two hundred and forty thousand Euro);

CONSIDERING that the same Project Steering Committee, on the same date above mentioned, has approved a list of parameters of priority for the cooperatives/associations, in order to define the percentage of co-financing (part of the cost of the equipment will be paid as grant by the Project and part will be paid by the cooperative/association that will receive the mentioned equipment).
